Don't buy this vacuum
This vacuum cleaner is much heavier than expected. It is difficult to carry up and down stairs.
The delivery took 4 to 5 weeks with no explanation.
The belt comes off way too easily. During each use, I have to replace the belt.
I have gone through 2 broken belts.
I expected this with my cheap Dirt Devil, but this time, I bought an expensive version and it has more problems than the cheap one.

Loss of suction after 3 months
The vacuum worked great at first, but after a couple of weeks, you could notice a decline in suction power. Now, at three months, there is very little power left.

The filters have been cleaned regularly, even replaced once to see if that was the cause. No luck.

...

This is our second (and last) Dirt Devil vacuum.

I love it!!!
I love this incredible machine. It is VERY powerful, goes from carpet to uncarpeted areas with ease. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the way one must empty the collector...I always seem to get dust everywhere. That's not enough to discourage me. This vacuum is the greatest!!! Before purchasing this vacuum I did alot of research & independents rate it #2, second only to a vacuum that costs 3 times more!

Worst ever!! Don't buy!!
We bought ours less than 2 months ago. I bought it to mainly use for small messes my toddlers make. It worked great at first. Now we would be happy if it would run for more than 3 minutes without the battery dying. We have to go over and over the specks of dirt. Sometimes it will pick it up in the 5th try. Sometimes we can even get one area rug vacumed before the battery runs out. Ours has found a new home in the trash. We found for large jobs our Bosch Cyclone is the best, and small jobs I now use a Sanyo Transformax Sc-180. I won't even bother with cordless anymore.

Hand Held Works great, Upright Not So Great
I bought this just to use while my hoover was being repaired. It worked great at first! It was easy to use in small places my large vacuum could not reach and seemed to suck pretty well for a small vacuum. That was for the first 3 months. Now I can not get the upright part to suck up anything. The hand held still works great but just doesn't seem to work when attached to upright. Now it is going to the repair shop! It has been used on a weekly basis, just to let you know how much wear and tear it can take. It has been more convient than my large vacuum until the upright part broke.

Bissel Vacuum Bags
These bags are a good buy here at Amazon although the bags are way overpriced by Bissel. You get the best bargain in a very good vacuum then you pay through the nose for the bags. Plus the bags are very difficult to find in general department stores ...

Not as good as the original
These are not as good as the original filters that came with the vacuum. Rather shallow in depth and [inexpensive]. But good enough.

Can't handle long hair!!
I bought this type vacuum because of the dynamics of the DUAL rotating agitator bars, the exceptional edge-cleaning and low-to the -floor profile(it can get really close under edges of counters, furniture). The adjustable and colapsible handle is fabulous as it takes up less room to store and even my petite daughter can easily use it. However, in only 6 months of use it has stopped working-the agitator bars arrangement allows for long hair to be wrapped onto them BUT NOT vaccumed into bag, to the extent that they caused the bushings that are opposite the belt to MELT, and only then did one of the belts break. This was after I'd carefully and faithfully cleaned the agitators off more often than the every 5 uses that was suggested in the instructions. When Panasonic was called about this problem, they had no other information, could tell me of no complaints tracked at all, but were very helpful about sending paperwork for the warranty to be observed. However parts are back-ordered for 8weeks!! (and according to service center this is not unusual for Panasonic). The store (...) honored the mfr's 1 year warranty by looking up my receipt,(and I'd paid cash), and giving me store credit for another or same model. I went with a different mfr and model because tho I will miss my telescoping handle and close to floor access most, the Hoover had better suction, easier to use tools and a powered attachment for steps. It was a little less expensive-so I got the store to throw in their 4 yr warranty beginning today and I've got 30 days to see if this one can actually suck up long hair or I'll return it for cash. (There's no frequent roller cleaning necessary in these instructions either).I'm hopeful.

Worse than junk
This product started out as one of the best purchases I've ever made. With 3 cats, there is alot of fur flying. However, after about 2 months of use, problems started to crop up. Even more disappointing is Target's response to my requests for an exchange to something that works longer than 80 days. I guess its better to go with a Kenmore where you can depend on both the brand and the Sears customer service.

Ripped off
I'm so angry!! I bought this vacuum four months ago and used it maybe three times. The motor has burned out and now I can't return it to target because it's past ninety days. I don't have a receipt and can't return it to Shark. I'm not a rich person and this really set me back. I don't know how I'm going to keep my carpet clean now because I can't afford another vacuum....Don't buy this vacuum!! It worked good at first and that was decieving!!

I can't believe what was in my carpet!
I accidentally purchased this vacuum thinking it was the Eureka canister brand I saw in previous reviews. I noticed the error when I got home, but decided to give it a whirl. Wow! Was I shocked to see what was living in my carpet. It even cleaned my area rugs, something my old Hoover couldn't do. I did have to empty the dust cup a few times, but it had been a while since I'd vacuumed. You do have to take it apart and do a lot of rinsing, but the dust cup has an ejection device at the bottom so it makes dumping the contents into the trash pretty easy. One thing I don't like is the color of the canister. The dark color makes it hard to see when your dust cup has hit the full line. I do like the wand. It does a great job on stairs and sofas and under beds. This was one feature the Eureka didn't have and according to its reviews, one of its downsides. I'm happy with this purchase and my carpets feel great. I have two cats and I couldn't feel or see kitty litter or hair when I was done. It had that nice soft "just washed" feel.

UV204 - Don't buy
I purchased a Euro-Pro Shark Spectra (UV-204) about 1 year ago. In this time, I have had to change the belt that drives the agitator about 8 times. I do NOT vacuum excessively (once / 2 weeks at most); I also have hardwood floors!

The drive belt is always in very good condition when I replace it, except it appears to have been worn in 1 or 2 spots, causing it to break. It is almost as if the drive spindle melts the belt somehow.

I am EXTREMELY unsatisfied with this purchase. My idea of a good vacuum is NOT one where I have to replace a part every third use. Also, it is very difficult to take the cover off and replace the belts - the cord holder is in the way and hard to remove, and due to the "stylish" design, you have to bend the plastic cover around the bag area.

Too much trouble to deal with it
I came to Amazon because i have 2 broken Shark vaccum's not the widepath but the thinner ones and they both have broken beater(roller) brushes on them. Against any BETTER judgement, my husband said he wanted another one, and bought the widepath. We took it home and it worked for vaccumming the whole house and then just stopped running. I changed plugs and moved in around the house and nothing happened. I took it back and what a surprise the store we bought it at only had the floor model left and didn't have plans on ordering anymore. Sounds to me like this may be discontined. On another swift note for Shark, i bought the hand held steam cleaner and when you let go of the handle the steam keeps coming out. NO MORE Shark products for this girl or my household. They sure do advertise well but need to hire more experienced people to assemble thier products!!!!

consumer beware
I bought this vaccuum about 4 months ago. After 2 months the motor started to make a horrific noise, so i called the shark people. The 1800 # was constantly busy for days so i actually had to call them directly in canada and was on hold forever. Finally got thru and explained problem. lady was rude and told me was the belt which i knew it was not considering i had already inspecked the dang thing myself. She ended up hanging up on me because she did not want to hear my explanation. So she sent me belts hat arrived 1 month later. What do you know, it wasnt the belts.took it to vaccuum shop and told me was roller brush.so i called long distance again and they told me they would send me a roller brush which its been 3 weeks now. Dont even want roller brush anymore, got new vaccuum since shark didnt want to refund money. Just glad that i dont have to deal with that company anymore. As for my shark, i have junked it and will never buy one again. The darn thing didnt even work but for 2 months.

Horrible Vacuum!!!
This vacuum cleaner overheats and shuts down after 5 minutes of use. It takes me hours to complete vacuuming my apartment ( I can't even imagine having to vacuum a whole house with this useless contraption ). I dread having to use it and have to plan times when I can vacuum a few feet (or until it overheats) and then go back to it later. The belt just broke and now I'm having a hard time finding replacement belts to buy...they don't sell them on their website. I will NEVER buy a Shark product again. I'm surprised these people are still in business!!!

DON'T BUY THIS JUNK
I've had the vacuum 6 months, three of which is worked and three of which I've been waiting for a replacement of the spinning brush. It's currently on backorder which means that a lot of people are having the same problem. The website is impossible to find and if you call them they are absolutely helpless! We finally broke down and bought another vacuum. Try Eureka, they're excellent.

I found a belt at sears
My belt broke also and i bought a sears brand replacement belt for a kenmore vac. It is belt number 5287 for upright vacs. You will have to pull a little to fit it on but it works just like new. You get two belts for $4 and some change. You can buy it from sears.com also.

Great concept that works poorly
Since my wife works and I'm retired, it's my responsibility to take care of the major maintenace in the house. Saw the Floorkeeper and thought that this was the answer to my floorwashing problems. Lot of promises made on the carton . . . but actual use shows most of the promises go unfulfilled. Some examples:

1. The Floorkeeper falls over easily . . . particularly when
it's full of solution.

2. You never know when the solution is on or off . . . until
you see a puddle under the machine.

3. After the floor has been washed and you turn on the suction
. . . the suction will stop for some unknown reason. If I empty
the dirty water . . . it will start again . . . but it doesn't
hold very much dirty water.

4. When it does work . . . it works well. But it has so many
problems that it's too much of a hassle to use it. I've gone back to a mop and pail.

Would I recommend it? No way.

several important problems
Since I retired I have assumed total responsibilty for cleaning the house and as a man I am always looking for the most effective (easy) method. The Floor Keeper is a great concept but unfortunately has several important flaws. These include:
1. The machine tips over too easily when the water tank is empty and the cord in wound on its holder...it is just a matter of time before something will break.
2. The shut off cleaning dispenser indicater is difficult to read...the only real way you know is when water is pooling on the floor.
3. The dirty water tank only holds 12 0z of solution (the amount of a large cup of coffee) before the vacuum shuts off. The time you spend emptying the tank makes mopping seem quick and simple. Back to the basics!

Spits out more dust than it vacuums!
This is a horrible vacuum. It worked for a month or so, and then was clogged. I constantly have to take it apart and clean it...I am talking about disassembling the whole thing! What a waste of money!

Boo-Hiss
This worked great at first. Then one day, after I applied carpet powder all over my apartment, it just stopped sucking! I am so incredibly disgusted that I won't buy another Hoover again.

The WORST ever!!!
The vacuum worked great for the first month. I have one long hair cat (who is brushed twice a day and doesn't shed much), no kids, 4 air purifiers, continually clean the air filter from the furnace, and I live in a condo...with no major heavy vacuuming jobs. So...*hypothetically* I have a home that any vacuum should be able to handle for the long haul/a few years...right? NOPE! After one month this thing could barely pick up typical dust bunnies/fuzzies on the carpet. This sucker broke a belt within 3 or 4 months of normal once a week usage. And after replacing that belt properly per their instructions...another belt from inside the motor (that is not easily accessible for fixing yourself) got off of whatever track it was on and began to melt on the peg that holds the agitator belt in place. It would be cheaper to buy another vacuum than replace that. I am utterly disappointed and angered at how poorly made this vacuum is. To top it off the belts are not easily found since everywhere is sold out!!! The vacuum also doesn't work well and overheats when you use the attachments to clean. And the hose isn't long enough to effectively vacuum UNDER anything with the attachments (the vacuum kept falling over on me...yikes! This vacuum is a big scam! AVOID it at all costs.
