MY CARPETS ARE CLEAN!!
I'M SO HAPPY WITH THIS MACHINE! IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY. MY CARPETS CAME CLEANER THAN THE WHEN WE HAD THEM DONE PROFESSIONALY BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS. EASY TO USE, AND IT'S AMAZING TO SEE THE DIRT IT SUCKS OUT. THE GREAT PART IS YOU CAN CLEAN ANYTIME YOU WANT. THIS BABY WILL PAY FOR ITSELF IN NO TIME.

UNBELIEVABLY AWSOME!!
This carpet cleaner is unbelievable. I had my house professionally cleaned prior to moving in last year. There were some left over stains that couldn't be removed. Can you believe the Hoover got them out? I used the hand tools with the rotery brushes and now EVERY stain is gone. I am soooo tickled. My carpet looks brand new. I recommend this carpet cleaner to everyone. Tip: I put oxy clean in with the detergent.

Well worth the money!!!!
I purchased this machine and I absolutely love it! It's a very wise investment, especially if you have children. It has saved my carpet on numerous occassions and I could not survive without it now. We used to rent those cheap ones from the local rental place and our carpet never looked or felt this clean. I can not say enough good things about this machine. I highly reccommend that you buy this steamvac if you value your carpeting, it will pay for itself within the first year.

    Great Vac but Poor design
I have a small Woodshop out of my home and already have a dust collection system, but I needed a small shop vac for mobility and also for using around the house. I decided on the Shop-Vac QSP Pro 18 gallon because I liked the fact it was advertised as "quiet" and it truly is! I dont mind listening to it all, much different than the jet engine sound of the Sears Craftsmans.

It has great suction!, I accidently brushed against a large shop towel and it sucked it up faster than I could pull away, it ended up in the tank and not stuck in the hose. I also liked how easy the top lifts off, pull 3 clips and it's off, the cord storage is OK, but I wish the prongs were a little larger as the 18 foot cord does not entirely fit.

The only bad things I noticed were in the design, the ON/OFF switch is horrable! it's a solid read button, actually its a rubber cover over a rocker type switch, which reads both ON>The other is the storage for the attachments, all you get is 2 male protrusions inside the storage bin, these are for the long black tubes, so where do you put the other attachments? you throw them in the middle and have to dig for them when you need them, in all fairness, shop vac does offer a tray that sits inside the bin, but they could of made 3 extra male protrusions and saved on [ruining] the consumer into buying their tray. Storage for the hose is another problem, it flops around on top of the shop vac with nowhere to put it.

Overall it's a great machine, Improve the design, and you got one awesome machine!...

    Fantastic Performance!
If you are looking for a vacuum cleaner that will clean up everything in your house, in your garage or in your car look no further. The 6.25hp motor on this Shop Vac will not disappoint. In addition to it's poweful motor and suction, this Shop Vac comes with a great assortment of cleaning tools and an extra hose. I highly recommend it to anyone intersted in purchasing a wet/dry vac.

    Great product
With a basement workshop, my wife and kids always got angry at me when I started my Craftsman 2.25hp shop-vac. It is ear piercing loud and drowned out the TV upstairs. I chose the 18 gal 6hp model because friends raved about how quiet the QSP's are and my Sears is 12 gal and that filled up too fast when connected to my planer. And, I want POWER. This QSP vac really is quiet for it's power. It's quieter than the 12 amp DirtDevil vac we use for household vacuuming. Best of all, the wife and kids upstairs don't hear it through the floor. It's easy on the ears, but I still recommend using ear protection when run with another tool. The large assortment of attachments is wonderful, and the caddy works great. And, it still doesn't take up much space in my small shop. The screw-on hose connection is great for us guys that like to pull the vac around by the hose. Of course, the handle on top also works nice for toting it around. All in all, a great tool. Interesting enough, my 2.25 Sears was rated at 12.5 amp and the 6hp Shop-Vac is rated at 9.5 amps. That seems strange. I recommend replacing the standard filter with a Gore Cleanstream filter. That will eliminate very fine dust being thrown back into the air.

It actually cleans better than you'd think!!
First of all, let me say that I love this thing! I've had mine for about 1 week and it is truly awesome! I have seen reviews here that suggest that it doesn't do the best of jobs on carpeting. I disagree. I think it actually does a BETTER job than you could do yourself and here's why; the Roomba traverses the floor in seemingly "random" patterns, it goes over an area several time and from different directions. Thats the key. When you vacuum yourself, you typically always go the same direction (at least I know I do) and you typically only cover an area once. Does it do a perfect job? No. If you're expecting that, then don't bother. It probably gets 95%+ of the stuff laying around, but for me thats good enough. Especially since I can recharge the thing and set it loose again the next day. It sure beats only vacuuming once a week (on a good week).

So, if you are contemplating buying this vac and have realistic expecatations, then don't hesitate, you won't be sorry.

Now, if I could just get it to do the stairs...

    Whoopee!
This thing is amazing and hysterical to watch! My spouse said we could sell the TV and just watch roomba instead - it's that much fun (well the first few times that is). Being a bit obsessive compulsive I wasn't sure that I would actually trust the thing to clean. Well it DOES! It cleans a lot better than I expected and I would recommend it to anyone. It doesn't do the best job on carpet but then I have a lot of tile and wood floors so it does a super job on them. I would suggest buying the rapid charger and an extra battery because they don't last long.

A robot just cleaned my house!
The only problem is this is supposed to save you labor and time, but I stood there watching it clean one room after the other. I wonder how it will hold up in the long run, but I'm hooked on this thing.

    Not bad for the size.
This small size shop vac works well, but is prone to tip over. I didn't like the fact that you had to modify the filter if you want to clean up wet or dry items. It also seemed to get clogged on some
items which I tried vaccuuming - I think I tried to use the product
    beyond what was intended.

    Nice little machine
We have had this product since Christmas 2001 and have used it to clean our fireplace, vacuum our van, soak up water in a flooded bathroom, and clean up after sawing wood in the garage. It is light and easy to maneuver but with plenty of power for around the house jobs.

Assembly is simple and clean up is a snap. The filter will get full of ash if you use it for your fireplace but a quick rinsing will alleviate that problem.

    Good Vac
This little guy is somewhat quieter than my old one - which was a welcome feature. Although it's a little quieter, it is still a powerful vac.

    Quiet but too small
I have been through several shop vac's in my carpentry business and this one is just too small for picking up anything but dust. The 1.5" hose is a bad idea. Most things on the jobsite or in the shop are bigger than 1.5" so things constantly get stuck in the hose/attachment area and the inlet/hose area. Splurge for any of the shop vac's with the 2.5" hoses and you will be much happier when you don't have to take the hose off the machine every 2 minutes to clear a jamb.

Exactly what I was looking for
Did lots of research on shop vacs. This one definetly caught my eye. Wanted something with the most power I could find without being too large in physical size. This shop-vac has been used so far for carpeted stairs, my Explorer, and even for cleaning the fireplace, also used it in the bathroom when the toilet backed up, and it worked great! The filter/bag system works very well, when using in fireplace didn't notice any dust/particles coming out of the vac. The only complaint I have is it doesn't come with a place for the attatchments, but plan on ordering the caddy kit eventually. This vac is perfect for those who live in apartments or townhomes, and is great for vehicles!

    I love my R2D2 look-a-like
I have had mine for quite some time and love it. My Mom kept breaking her usual "household" cleaners and I suggested this one. I bought it on Amazon and gave it to her. She just adores her little cleaner. She is 85 years old and it is light enough for her to pull/carry around, but tough enough to pick up excessive dog hair, etc. She is very impressed with it. This little guy has yet another fan!

    Pretty Nice Device
Just got the 9.6 volt model V9610 about a week ago. Overall I like it a lot. It might seem a little large at first, but is handy to use and well balanced. Suction on the high setting is impressive, while the normal setting still provides plenty for most things. Emptying it out is easy, as is cleaning the filter. Be sure to read and understand the instructions for charging it before use. The manual says it'll run 10 minutes between charges. Seems to do better than that to me. It's a lot easier to pull out of the craddle when wall mounted, so I suggest you use the supplied screws and drywall anchors. I took off one star for that and the switch being a little on the stiff side. I definitely recommend this model over the lesser powered ones for the good suction.

    better than the older models
Black&Decker had made some cheapy models of dustbusters thru the years. I have owned several, and the batteries eventually refuse to hold charges for very long, or the internal connections fail.
The 9610 seems, so far, to buck that trend.
I have used the 9610 for 14 consecutive minutes on high setting. I have done this twice, and it still lasted the full 15 minutes on high. It should run longer on the lower power setting.
    random comments on this unit:
    - The attachments (when not in use) snap into the bottom of the vacuum, but a vigorous shake of the vacuum will dislodge them. Well, they have fallen out several times for me, because there are times when you do shake the vacuum for whatever reason.
    - The power of this vacuum is excellent. My older, lower voltage dustbusters had very little sucking power. This one is a real sucker. Basically, if it will fit thru the front hole, it's gone. (Except for maybe heavy steel items)
    - The plastic finish does scratch fairly easily, so if you want a showpiece device, this isn't it.
    - The filter is a two stage. You only need to clean the outer filter every time, and the inner filter when it gets really dirty. I like that.
    - The price/performance issue. You can pay $20 for a low end dustbuster, or pay $34 (walmart) for this one. Is it worth it? Well, if the $14 difference is significant for you, maybe not. But if the cost is not prohibitive for you, by all means get this model instead.
I would not recommend other dustbuster models, but I would recommend this one.

    Dust bunny destroyer!!
First of all, for me to be enthusiastic enough about a vacuum to bother with a review speaks volumes.

I got a dust buster about 10 years ago and it did minimally well for a few things, but was mostly disappointing. Actually I didn't use it much because it's usefulness was so limited. Periodically I used it to clean the massive cob webs in the basement ceiling and it shined there. So when that one died, even after reading positive reviews of the newer ones, I was skeptical. And, I'm happy to say I was wrong.

I've got hardwood floors and linoleum in the kitchen and bath. Dust bunnies reproduce like, well, bunnies. I could never keep up with them all. And I have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that shed super-fine hair. Combine the two things and YOWWIE! Dust-ball-city, baybee--especially if company is coming.

But this new dust buster with the 9.6 volt power really sucks! And I mean that in a good way. It's actually "fun" to suck those annoying balls of dust and dirt out of corners and wherever they hide. It easily picks up dirt and dry lawn stuff the dogs constantly drag in from outside too. I start in the kitchen and then end up going all over the house looking for more.

Let me just add that I am NOT one of those women who treat housekeeping as a hobby. It's one of my favorite things to procrastinate over. So when I say a vacuum is fun, it's bizarre! But this is one of the best and most useful purchases that I've made recently, and my house is cleaner for it. It's a handy product.

    Good power, so-so attachments
I bought this model to try out at home and to use at the local animal shelter where I clean out the cattery once each week. It's a decent vacuum and for the price is a good buy.

The power is good - strong enough to pick up evenly across the width of the floor tool while cutting a swath through dust, dirt, or cat litter. It does have trouble with larger objects - bits of kibble, in my case - but this seems down to the head design. If I take it off, the bare hose sucks up anything I've tried it on.

The tools that come with the machine are not the best designs I've seen. The smooth surface tool has a nice, wide head, but has wheels on it that seemed more of a nuisance than any real use. Relatively soon (I've had it about a month now) one of the wheels fell off and could not be popped back on. That aside, the tool works OK without wheels (hardly any difference) and does not scratch the floor, so it's still usable.

The machine also came with a very interesting-looking device for cleaning carpet, complete with a mechanism designed to spin a small brush. This worked for about five minutes, during which time it was quite effective on our berber rug. It then stopped working and I've been unable to make it work since.

The internal workings seem more robust; it's done a great job handling a lot of pet hair, cat litter, bits of food, heavy dirt, etc. For its size and weight (pleasantly light) it has great power, and I find the filter no real bother to clean. Like any bagless, you do need to be prepared to handle some mess when emptying the dust cup, but it's usually enough just to stick it in a plastic grocery bag and dump the dirt into the bag. Lots cheaper than cleaner bags and handy as well. I'm happy with it and for the price, it's a nice buy.

I can't say enough good things about this vaccuum!
I never thought I would want a canister vaccuum. My mother had one and the canister would fall over and it was a pain to drag around. But then my husband and I pulled up the rugs and put in hardwood floors and area rugs and it was a pain in the neck to have to dry mop the floor parts and what to use on the carpet? I bought an electric broom, carpet sweeper and a stick vac and none of them did an adequate job. So I read the helpful reviews on here and I got this vaccuum!

And I can not say enough good things about it. It doesn't fall over because the back wheels are huge, they move smoothly to follow you around. the cord is long. It is easy to switch from carpet to bare floor and it comes with a ton of attachments. It easily gets under dressers and into areas that you could never get an upright! You just pick up the hose and put it behind the furniture or lay it down and do under! You can easily do the couch cushions! I will NEVER go back to an upright.

And with this one there are no bags!! The filter is easy to clean! It picks up everything on the first swipe and gets deeply into the thick, plush area rug in our family room! And with two toddlers and two dogs, there are a lot of spills and messes and it works great! I can do my whole house with this one very lightweight, compact, easy to store vaccuum!

    I LOVE IT!!!!!!

    Trying this model since
had a mighty mite for 15 years and its still going. Reason
for purchasing this new model is that going to give the old
mite to a family member to use in there cars. So if the 3690
is anything like the old mite it will be a good vac.

It is confusing searching the net but when went to Eureka sites
some of the models in net are not listed. This led to believe
they were discontinued so again selected the 3690. All that
    was listed were 3670, 3690, 3695.

Will follow up once this model arrives

    GOOD pickup, POOR impracticle features
The price tag you're looking at is for the features and everyone seems to be giving this vacuum a high rating on it's power performance ONLY. You can find a vacuum with better features and equal power for cheaper.

PROS: 1) Good suction 2) Easy to empty 3) Three filters 4) Hasn't clogged and I've sucked up a bag of flour and have brand new carpet.

CONS: 1) IT'S HEAVY 2) It's very bulky 3) The hose is way too SHORT which really surprised me. I tried to pull it out to suck something up and it barely reached pass the vacuum. As heavy as the vacuum is you'd think they'd make the hose longer so you could reach the messes. Not to mention that it only comes with one extension (plus a brush and a crevice tool) 4) The duster is VERY IMPRACTICAL. It's what made me try this model and I never use it now. The first time I used it I knew I would never use it again. When you put the duster back into the holder it pushes the bristles back and throws the dust everywhere. It doesn't get an electrostatic charge (at least mine never did) so dust really doesn't stick to it very well. It just moves the dust around. You're better off with a good old fashion feather duster.

So to sum it all up, it's heavy and awkward to use, but it has excellent sucking power. Don't buy this for the features, you can find a vacuum with equal power for the same price (or lower) that has better features.

    Dog Hair Magnet
I own a 85lb German Shepherd that does a lot of shedding. I bought this vacuum based on some reviews written about it and can only reaffirm the positive comments on it. I opened the box and tried it right away and after 1 min I had to empty all the dog hair it had picked up. It works great and would recommend it to any pet owner that has problems with pet hair.

    Excellent value
I have this vacuum in the Lite version {4388BT}. It picks up really well and I haven't had any problems. I've owned many brands of vacuums over the years and I compared them for many months before buying this one at [local store]. It could use a longer cord and hose. But, you can buy attachments, etc., if you look on-line. It may not be for heavy duty cleaning. For the [money] it cost it was a good value but is being discontinued.

    My favorite Vacuum
I don't think you can buy a better vacuum for under $70.This is my third one . The first two lasted over ten years! The clear dust canister is nice ,the size is compact and well designed and suction is great .Attachments work well. The handle is perfect for vacuuming while you carrying.

    This Vacuum Rocks!
This is one of the best items I have ever purchased. I also purchased the Sanyo SC-X1000P Powerhead Canister vacuum at my local vac shop. That vacuum is like a rolls-royce at a Ford price... I wish Amazon carried it.

    No blower
The Shopvac works great, but does not convert to a blower.

Easy to use and it definitely gets the job done.
First, let me point out that I'm not a contractor. I'm a homeowner with a big, dirty garage and the owner of 2 frequently dirty cars. I needed something that could handle seriously dirty floors, walls, spills, car floors and anything else I could throw at it outside of the house. And, I needed to be able to do it fast and easily.

In short, this machine fit the bill perfectly. I don't have any complaints about it. It came w/ a huge vacuum bag, hose, accessories and it was easy to assemble. It has amazing sucking power and is very easy to move around. It's probably more machine than I need for my purposes, but I'm not complaining at all.

To sum up: It's an extremely nice machine for a very nice price. I seriously doubt you'd be disappointed.

Keep the cat away from this vac
This Wet/Dry Vac is the best shop vac I have ever owned. Make sure you are waching what your picking up with it. Everything goes in but does not come out. 5.0 horse power will pull the paint off the neighbors house. Great unit, get one you will love it.
