This is a great vacuum bag. It sucks up the allergans which is very helpful to those people allergic to pet dander.

This vaccum is great. I was worried about the bag/filter light to see if the bag would really be full before it came on and low and behold the bag was stuffed when the light came on. I have not had any problems and would recommend this vaccum to anyone. It works great on picking up dog hair from the carpet and bare floors.

I got a great deal on mine as a today's special value from QVC, and paid only $117 for it. After letting the battery charge overnight, I tried it yesterday and it works just fine, with a remote control and more features than I expected! It doesn't get to the very edges of every nook and cranny, and only works on low pile carpet and hard surface floors, but I am very pleased with how well it navigated on its own and how well it cleaned the floors. The recharge time is much shorter after the initial time. For the impatient there is a rapid recharger available for purchase separately. The debris is collected in a cup you empty after each use, so no bag is required, but the replacement filters are not cheap (about $29 for a dozen from Lentek, $24 from QVC.)

a powerful vacuum (1000w) that's fairly quiet and does a fine job on both hardwood floors and rugs. it's great around the apartment with its 26 ft long cord.

the miele s143 is solidly constructed without being overly weighty and is nicely balanced. the head pivots slightly side to side and is actually helpful vacuuming around things like a furniture leg. the head loses full contact somewhat when you bring the vacuum down to the level of the floor in the rug mode -- trying (ummph) to get deep under the sofa or bed but otherwise but generally does a fine job.

the heart of the s143 can be used with a smaller head/crevice attachment and without the long handle, much like a really powerful hand vac. a very useful feature for cleaning furniture.

there is an option to upgrade to a hepa filter (although the included carbon filter bag is good enough for me) and i believe an option to upgrade to a motorized head but i suspect if that's a serious consideration, the s147 is probably the way to go.

off tangent: i'm not sure why the description lists Ivory as the color but the s143, as far as i know, only comes in the mint green shown in the picture.

all in all, a finely built product that's nicely met the needs of this apartment dweller... though a tad on the pricey side.

i researched alot of vacuums... this one passed test and got stubborn,embedded labrador retriever dog hair out of cargo area of our carpetted suv.nothing else worked. only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is tools hardly store nicely[2 of 5 store in vacuum,the other 3 are just stored loose....ive never had a canister before, always an upright but like it and not so heavy to use and vacuum path is not as wide as some uprights but easier to use under chairs,etc

I found this product to be very convenient.You know those times wjhen your on the go,when every little second counts? Well plugging in one of those heavy vaccumes and than pushing all that weight around takes to many of those seconds .Not with this product.You dont even have to plug it in,and weight,yah right!

Having had this vacuum for almost a year now I have no regrets. It has been through a lot in a short amount of time and has just kept going. My only problem is one of the wheels broke off but it was my mistake.

It's certainly not leak proof, but if you 'prep' it with hot water before pouring in your drink it will keep drinks warm (with the lid slid shut) for about five hours or so. It sucks you can't put it in the dishwasher but this is consistent with all other vaccum-mug products. The price is a little better than the Nissan but I suggest considering their 14oz travel mug if you don't mind having a handle or looking like every college student on the street.

Do your self a favor and purchase this item if you do heavy woodworking for example lathe work and plaining large stock down theres nothing worse than getting big shavings of wood on the floor. In my shop I have two because I use the lathe daily and hate wood shavings.
