Fits our needs perfect!There's Pro's & Con's depending on your expectations;
It can follow the outer wall perimeter of a room, work it's way around furniture and back to the wall. It has deliberation in it's pattern madness. It WILL cover the entire room. Unfortunately, the battery charge does not accomodate a very large room. We purchased a rapid charger (2.5 hrs.) and an extra battery to keep Roomba ready to go.
With minor room prepping to eliminate wires, "wedge" shaped areas under furniture, frayed area rugs, you can turn it loose and let it work while you're gone. It simply stops when the charge runs out. But you need to make sure the room is prepped as Roomba will cry for help if in a situation he can't get out of. I won't go into details but Roomba does have some personality.
The heavy elevated furniture (bed, couch, curio) that can't get moved weekly, can now be cleaned under weekly.
The only features that kept me from giving this 5 stars is: The catch bin is very small. The battery run time is around an hour, at best. The recharge time is around 12 hours. I had to buy more accessories to make Roomba fit my needs.
If you're looking for a hepa vacumn that will keep your home dust free, forget about the Roomba. If it requires too much work to pick up the clutter in your home to run Roomba, you need a bigger vac anyway. It's not a one shot house cleaning miracle.
If you want some low maintenance help in your busy life to keep your floors cleaner between regular vacumnings, Roomba will do that...in an entertaining fashion.
Mine turned on me!!!When roomba finally returned it was different. The little green activation light was red. I thought it needed to be plugged in. I noticed more and more that roomba would continually run into the table if I left sharp objects out. Seeming to try for hours to get it to fall onto the floor. I thought it was all very funny until one night, I was in the bath tub, listening to the radio. I heard a tapping sound, and looked over to see roomba trying to knock the radio into the tub. At that point I was worried, so I took out the batteries. The next morning Roomba and it's AC adapter were gone.
Just be careful, these things will fight for their own lives!
Roomba is the best!!!!I have long hair and I clean the brushes every 2 weeks. This is a great product I LOVE MY ROOMBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really a 0 star ratingBodum honored the warrentee on the first pot, and since the 2nd died before it's 1 yr. warrentee has run out, do you suppose they'll send me another.... and another.....
Oh yes, it is a real mess to clean, and if it overflows, it can start an electrical fire or at least short out the base piece (which has the timer).
But it does make good coffee.

I'm getting used to it...I also did not understand that I was supposed to vacuum the surface before AND after I steam cleaned. I have found that this is necessary.
I am looking for wiping cloths to replace the one that comes with it. It is like a super-heavy HandiWipe. I can only find them available from DeLonghi (...) I will experiment with alternatives.
It feels really good to use a cleaner that is so environmentally friendly.
DeLonghi ST100P Steam Cleaner
THERE IS A LEARNING CURVE ON THIS PRODUCT!!The first time I used this I was worried I would give myself a third degree burn. I read the directions and went very slowly. After the first canister of water was used up, I gave up. I was exhausted but extremely impressed with the cleaning of my bathroom and hallway walls and ceiling. The next week I tried again. Reread the instructions and found it easier to handle.
I learned the easiest way to attach the cloth to the spring clips is to lay the cloth down flat, put the attachment on top of the cloth, press down on one spring and fold a corner of the cloth in. Then do the rest. I found it impossible to attach the cloth to the attachment while holding both in my hands.
Today was my third time using the product. Again I reread the instructions for any hint of how to use this product better and still worried about burning myself. All my kitchen cupboards, walls and ceiling came clean without a problem except for one. I don't know why but that one had terrible ugly streaks. Finally, I took the Carpet/floor brush off (which works great on walls and ceilings) and sprayed the area with the thin line crevice tool. I knew then that the problem really was dirt and not a bad paint job. Lots of longs streams of grease starting rolling down my wall and though I felt I might be making things worse I soaked the wall up good with the crevice tool. I then put on the carpet tool with a utility towel wrapped on it and quickly went over the area. It came out super clean and beautiful.
I had steam left in the canister and wondered what else I could use it on. (I find I hate to waste the steam and look for things to use it up on.)
I used this Steam Cleaner to clean my Hoover Steam Vacuum. My steam vacuum has this thin clear plastic piece in front where all the dirt and liquid passes through. It gets very disgusting looking at times since I have four cats and a dog. The tool they supply does not do a very good job of pushing the pet hairs out. I put the crevice tool back on and used this machine to shoot the pet hairs out of my steam vaccum. Now I don't have to look at that disgusting hard packed mass of cat hairs in my steam vacuum or deal with trying to push them out with that stupid piece of plastic. This to me is fanastic! (I hope you understand what I'm talking about here. It is hard to describe.)
Anyway the first and second time I used this product, I wondered if it was worth it. Today was my third time and now I do believe it is. For me, the crevice tool worked better on my windows today then the window squeegee did last week. I found the squeegee hard to manipulate. I think it is a matter of learning how to use the product. I never liked the job my steam vacuum did on my kitchen floors. I steamed cleaned my kitchen floors with this today and it worked so great and was so easy I am throwing out my mops. (I have many mops. I have gone threw so many types and not really liked any of them.)
Once you learn to regulate the steam with the on and off switch that is on the handle things will not get soaked and you should be able to clean a couch or chair with it. A steam vacuum might work easier for such a job but this machine would probably do a better job on getting out a tough stain.
I am glad I didn't give up on this machine. It is easy to use once you understand how to use it. I hate cleaning, and this machine kind of motivates me since I always feel I might as well keep cleaning as long as there is steam left. I saw a consumer report on another steam cleaner where the attachments get blown off and bigger messes are created because of the product. Well the attachments on this one don't blow off, and I think I made quite a big mess on my greasy kitchen wall today, but when I changed the attachment I was able to wipe up all that grease easily. (And I guess a rag by itself could always wipe up such messes.) It would have been very hard to get that wall clean without this product.
I did buy a lot of cheap utility cloths and I change them frequently while using this product. The machine does not suck up dirt. The rags pick the dirt up and need to be washed.

no good!!!Yes! it's true that it's cheap and easy to carry.. but
it's not enough to get dust and hair from the carpet..
This vacuum is the weakness machine in the world!!!
Good Things Come In Small PackagesIt is not intended to be the main vac, but it is great for doing small jobs such as window sills, around the edge of the room and around furniture legs where the big vac misses that last inch or so. I also used this vac to clean my furniture and was very pleased with the results. It easily reaches into small corners and crevices.
This baby vac has tremenous power, a long cord, and an easy on/off switch. It is light weight and fits comfortable in the hand. The collection bin is small and needs frequent emptying, but I placed a trash can in the middle of the room while cleaning which saved time and many steps.
Keep in mind this is a little bitty vac intended for minor jobs and quick clean ups and you won't be disapointed.
I give it two thumbs up and rate it a good value for the small price.

customer service
ddvddvI even use this thing on the back porch to pick up leaves, berries, and stuff I don't feel like getting out the broom & dustpan for.
I don't think this machine is designed for heavy duty work, or not sure how it would perform on deep-pile carpet, but for my hardwood situation it's perfect!
Also, the little wheel for baseboards really works! It throws stuff right in front of the beeterbar to be consumed.
It's a sweeper not a vacuum!!!!!!
