Miserable former owner a Dirt Devil piece of junk
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! DIRT DEVIL DOES NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY ON THESE MACHINES. I bought my machine in January of this year. In June I think it was I vacuumed one day and the thing worked just fine, the next day when I pressed the power button it whirred as long as I held the button in but would not stay locked into "on." I called Dirt Devil and found out that there was only one repair center that was any where close to me and that it was an hour's drive in the opposite direction from where I normally do business. The thing sat around for a few months until I could get it to the repair center. When I went to pick the machine up I was presented with a bill for $39.95 for "cleaning" the switch. The repair center owner explained that if the switch had been defective the repair would have been covered under warranty but since it was merely dirty I had to pay for it. There is nothing in the owner's manual referencing a need to clean the switch and the trouble shooting guide in the reference manual does not mention a dirty switch as a possible reason for the machine to not run. I left the machine at the repair center and called Dirt Devil. From several conversations with them I gather that they don't consider it a design or manufacturing defect when the machine is operated according to instructions (I was very careful to always clean out the dust cup whenever it looked like it had any accumulation of dirt) and manages to suck enough dirt up into its inner workings to kill it. They were way more interested in telling me that if I didn't pay the owner of the repair shop that he would sell my machine. They did finally offer me the option of going for the two hour round trip drive to go pick the thing up and take it to a new repair center that has opened up and get a second opinion there or to pay to send it in to Dirt Devil. Since I have owned serveral vacuum cleaners that have lasted ten years or more each without ever quitting and since I have had such a miserable time so far with this thing I've decided I'm much better off without any of Dirt Devil's junk cluttering up my closet. I would highly recommend that you look elsewhere for a vacuum cleaner.

Not as good as it looks
This was a great vacuum for the first month. It is true that the spinning brush helps pick up dirt. But what they don't tell you is that after a few uses it is virtually impossible to remove the dirt that gets embedded in the brush which hampers its use. It is very noisy so you'll need a pair of ear plugs. Also, the only way to do corners is to remove the motorized sweeper portion. This requires removing a plug that is an awkward place. Wear gloves when you do this or you will draw blood from your nuckles as I've done. The attachments are useless so you will need to use the hose without any attachments to get into corners and baseboards. The motorized sweeper doesn't work on bare floors. You can turn off the motor but it doesn't pick up much. When the motor is on, I end up chasing dust across the floor. The dust always wins. I have to use the hose without any attachments on the floor. A real back breaker. Also, you want to be very careful when emptying the canister. Dust will fly everywhere because not everything is trapped in the compartment. Needless to say, I'm looking for a new vacuum cleaner.

SUPER VACUUM
Believe it or not, but this is the 3rd Dirt Devil 082600 Vision Canister Vac I have purchased thru Amazon!!! So, I must be 100% satisfied with it.It is a super vac, great power, easy to change the floor attachment to the carpet attachment and easy to empty the bagless canister. My husband even commented how good a vac it is, so I bought one for the garage and basement for him !!!! It is a heavy unit so I am leaving one up and on the main level of our home. It has a long cord so using it on the steps is not a problem.I love it and recommend to all!! For the price it is the best vacuum on the market today, believe me, I have tried the other brands and this is the best!!

Fits our needs perfect!
We bought my daughter and son-in-law an original Roomba for their wedding this summer. She's a little on the practical side, he's a little like me, likes gadgets. We thought this would be a perfect gift. They loved it! So much, that they were looking forward to bringing it back to our house to show us how great it was. If it passed their expectations, we had to have one ourselves. Low and behold...we found new models, the Pro & Pro Elite. After carefully searching the internet I found there are many different packages available. We ended up purchasing a Pro model package that included 2 extra filters, two virtual walls, and the remote that actually activates the same features the Pro Elite model provides.

There's Pro's & Con's depending on your expectations;

It can follow the outer wall perimeter of a room, work it's way around furniture and back to the wall. It has deliberation in it's pattern madness. It WILL cover the entire room. Unfortunately, the battery charge does not accomodate a very large room. We purchased a rapid charger (2.5 hrs.) and an extra battery to keep Roomba ready to go.

With minor room prepping to eliminate wires, "wedge" shaped areas under furniture, frayed area rugs, you can turn it loose and let it work while you're gone. It simply stops when the charge runs out. But you need to make sure the room is prepped as Roomba will cry for help if in a situation he can't get out of. I won't go into details but Roomba does have some personality.

The heavy elevated furniture (bed, couch, curio) that can't get moved weekly, can now be cleaned under weekly.

The only features that kept me from giving this 5 stars is: The catch bin is very small. The battery run time is around an hour, at best. The recharge time is around 12 hours. I had to buy more accessories to make Roomba fit my needs.

If you're looking for a hepa vacumn that will keep your home dust free, forget about the Roomba. If it requires too much work to pick up the clutter in your home to run Roomba, you need a bigger vac anyway. It's not a one shot house cleaning miracle.

If you want some low maintenance help in your busy life to keep your floors cleaner between regular vacumnings, Roomba will do that...in an entertaining fashion.

Mine turned on me!!!
Roomba may be excellent at vacuuming up after me, but I think mine developed some sort of conciousness because I noticed more and more that it wasn't vacuuming but using it's little sensors to memorize my daily patterns. I'd notice it just looking at me from the doorway and I started calling in to ask questions. Roomba didn't like this and disapeared for a few days. That's when weird stuff started happening. I noticed objects in the path of my daily routine, found little piles of dead bugs just left around the house like a warning, and I'd wake up to weird pounding sounds.

When roomba finally returned it was different. The little green activation light was red. I thought it needed to be plugged in. I noticed more and more that roomba would continually run into the table if I left sharp objects out. Seeming to try for hours to get it to fall onto the floor. I thought it was all very funny until one night, I was in the bath tub, listening to the radio. I heard a tapping sound, and looked over to see roomba trying to knock the radio into the tub. At that point I was worried, so I took out the batteries. The next morning Roomba and it's AC adapter were gone.

Just be careful, these things will fight for their own lives!

Roomba is the best!!!!
I bought ROOMBA a few months ago. I use it every other day and it is the only vacuum I have. It is worth the money and I am so happy because I just watch how it cleans all my carpeted house.
I have long hair and I clean the brushes every 2 weeks. This is a great product I LOVE MY ROOMBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool kitchen gizmo
This falls into the category of non-essential but pretty cool kitchen stuff. My dinners are frequently some type of marinated fish or chicken, but I'm notoriously bad at planning ahead. Sometimes you don't know what you want your protein to taste like until you get home from work and kick your shoes off. So this really makes my life more flexible since I can marinate in a flash. Also, since I'm typically marinating for 1 or 2 servings, the container is really too big (you could probably fit 4-6 servings inside). Easy solution: I just put my 2 servings in a small bowl or tray inside this gizmo, and then pump it up as usual. Does the trick without using up any more marinade than necessary.

Can't wait to try the pump (along with the stoppers I bought separately) to keep wine fresher longer. A great idea!

Love it!
We used this on a small pork roast and the flavor went through easily. Best pork roast ever! No leftovers. I plan to get one for my parents. Only drawback I see is that the container isn't big enough for bigger cuts of meat.

Don't Use Strong Flavor Marinade
This has a 1.25 Liter (Vacu-Vin is based in the Netherlands) capacity and comes with a pump and 10 marinade recipes. The Vaccuum food saver comes with a 1.0 Liter, 0.75 Liter, and 0.5 Liter jar with pump. The lid is white. The Concerto stoppers also work with the Vacuum marinater, the Concerto vacuum pump is easier to use and won't accidently crack the container by pumping too much (you can give away the pump and stopper that comes with as a gift). The interior is 10 inches long with a height of 3 inches and a width of 4-6 inches. I have tried it as a marinator and it holds a 2-1/3 lb thin cut boneless round steak (folded over 3 times). My guess is that is could hold 3 thinly cut small boned steaks. The Concerto pump won't work very well with the regular pump stoppers, so if you buy the Concerto pump, buy (extra) Concerto stoppers. Before I purchased this marinator, I would marinate for 2-3 hours with a strongly flavored mariade. I suggest that if you marinate with this product for 2-3 hours, that you start with a weak marinade and gradually work yourself up to your perferred strength of flavor. A little marinade goes a long way with this product, so use the mariade sparingly (you will save money on the mariade).

Does the job and does it right!
This is a perfect, quick broom-vac for frequent easy cleanings. It’s so tiny, versatile, and inexpensive, that everyone should own one. This powerful broom vacuum does a great job on our floors and area rugs. The beater bar easily picks up the hair from our shorthaired dog, as well as my long hair. The small head allows you to get under objects that you never could with a full size vacuum. The filter is easy to clean with a quick tap and rinse. And you can also turn the beater bar off for floor cleaning. I own a noisy full-size Dirt Devil vacuum that I purchased in college. After moving out of a wall-to-wall carpeted apartment into a hardwood floor house I found it tiresome to vacuum the area rugs and then sweep the floor areas with a broom. You may ask why I didn't just use the vacuum on the whole house. Well, I found that the beater bar on my full-size vacuum was rough on the hardwood floors. And since I didn't have the option of turning off the beater bar, my only option was an old-fashioned broom. So when my husband and I had the opportunity to register for our wedding, we thought we would try a smaller vacuum. One gift, one year and one dog later, we still own the vacuum and love it! My only negative comment about this vacuum is the hard to use dust cup button. I have found it difficult to pull the button into an open position to remove and replace the dust cup. But considering that my full size vacuum hasn't left the closest for over a year, the button is only a minor flaw. You should keep in mind; this is a broom-vac, which is meant to take the place of your broom, not a full size vacuum. I love this for my hardwood floors and area rugs, but I do not think it would perform as well on wall-to-wall carpet. Also keep in mind; if this vacuum broke today, I would instantly buy another one tomorrow!

Really a 0 star rating
I've now owned 2 of these in less than 12 months. The entire appliance is made of plastic, which doesn't hold up to daily use. The handle broke off the first pot after 3 months. Without the handle, the pot isn't useable. Since the pot contains the heating unit, everything had to be replaced. The handle lasted a little longer on the second pot; long enough for the the top surface of the pot, which forms the vacumn seal with the top, to crack. With cracks there's no vacum, with no vacum the coffee stays in the top piece with the grounds. We repaired the original cracks with epoxy, but new cracks keep forming. Now the lid is breaking up and the handle is starting to break off.

Bodum honored the warrentee on the first pot, and since the 2nd died before it's 1 yr. warrentee has run out, do you suppose they'll send me another.... and another.....

Oh yes, it is a real mess to clean, and if it overflows, it can start an electrical fire or at least short out the base piece (which has the timer).

But it does make good coffee.

Revised Review
I originally gave this pot a rating of 1 star but would like to change it to 5 stars. After a very minor correction, the Bodum-3000 now makes an excellent & rich cup of coffee. I had originally complained about its producing a thin, weak brew but have since discovered that this was due to the silicon band preventing contact with the heating base. It took 2 seconds to remove this band and the result is that the brewing process was lengthened by a couple of minutes. I could immediately taste the difference--what was once dishwater became GREAT coffee. Bodum contacted me by email & was extremely helpful, offering to do whatever it takes to satisfy me. So, I now enthusiastically recommend the Bodum Santos 3000, both for the wonderful coffee & customer service!

Delicious, delightful, wonderful coffee!!
I love this appliance! When used according to the directions, it makes great tasting coffee, with a show! Cleanup is not really a lot of trouble, for those of you who have read the reviews regarding this issue. I simply put the emptied bowl in the bottom rack of the dishwasher, lids and filter in the top rack (I prefer to remove the filter first,) about once a week. (We use the "air dry" setting; don't know if this makes a difference, but will keep your plastics from melting in the washer!) The pot can be cleaned with hot soapy water and a bottle brush from the inside, just wipe the outside with a damp soft cloth. The handle is ergonomic and rubber-coated for a safe pour, and the timer function is great for having your favorite vice ready in the morning before you are! The heater makes the water SO much hotter than a drip maker, to extract more flavor from your favorite brand. Yes, there will be a small amount of water left bubbling in the pot while the coffee cooks in the top chamber; this is to prevent the integrated heating element from cracking the pot. When the finished coffee WHOOSHES back down, the remaining hot water and coffee mixes together by itself. This unit seems to be easier to store below the countertop if you so choose; it's not as tall as a lot of other coffeemakers, because the top and bottom separate, it fits in a lower cabinet much more easily. (Although it looks SO COOL on display.) I can't say enough about this pot! Just follow the directions and you should be perfectly happy with your new appliance.

I'm getting used to it...
Easy setup and simple to use, but I do not know how slowly to guide the steam over the surface of what I am cleaning. I understand that it emits the steam at such a high pressure that the moisture evaporates within minutes. I have used a full tank of water to clean a mattress, and found that the mattress became only slightly damp. I don't know how deeply the steam permeated the mattress. I have had the same trouble judging its effectiveness on carpet, though it removed marks that I had previously given up on.

I also did not understand that I was supposed to vacuum the surface before AND after I steam cleaned. I have found that this is necessary.

I am looking for wiping cloths to replace the one that comes with it. It is like a super-heavy HandiWipe. I can only find them available from DeLonghi (...) I will experiment with alternatives.

It feels really good to use a cleaner that is so environmentally friendly.

DeLonghi ST100P Steam Cleaner
This unit is rugged, light, and very well-designed. I was able to remove carpet stains which I was unable to get up by any other method. Unlike many other steam cleaners which are little more than toys and barely generate steam pressure above 1 atmosphere, this unit has excellent steam pressure which is necessary for difficult cleaning jobs such as barbecue grills and tough carpet stains. Steam pressure is generated in a matter of only minutes after filling the boiler and powering the unit. The ability to do serious cleaning without using any chemicals is a terrific asset. The steam switch on the wand is a great convenience.

THERE IS A LEARNING CURVE ON THIS PRODUCT!!
This is a Steam CLEANER not a Steam VACUUM.

The first time I used this I was worried I would give myself a third degree burn. I read the directions and went very slowly. After the first canister of water was used up, I gave up. I was exhausted but extremely impressed with the cleaning of my bathroom and hallway walls and ceiling. The next week I tried again. Reread the instructions and found it easier to handle.

I learned the easiest way to attach the cloth to the spring clips is to lay the cloth down flat, put the attachment on top of the cloth, press down on one spring and fold a corner of the cloth in. Then do the rest. I found it impossible to attach the cloth to the attachment while holding both in my hands.

Today was my third time using the product. Again I reread the instructions for any hint of how to use this product better and still worried about burning myself. All my kitchen cupboards, walls and ceiling came clean without a problem except for one. I don't know why but that one had terrible ugly streaks. Finally, I took the Carpet/floor brush off (which works great on walls and ceilings) and sprayed the area with the thin line crevice tool. I knew then that the problem really was dirt and not a bad paint job. Lots of longs streams of grease starting rolling down my wall and though I felt I might be making things worse I soaked the wall up good with the crevice tool. I then put on the carpet tool with a utility towel wrapped on it and quickly went over the area. It came out super clean and beautiful.

I had steam left in the canister and wondered what else I could use it on. (I find I hate to waste the steam and look for things to use it up on.)
I used this Steam Cleaner to clean my Hoover Steam Vacuum. My steam vacuum has this thin clear plastic piece in front where all the dirt and liquid passes through. It gets very disgusting looking at times since I have four cats and a dog. The tool they supply does not do a very good job of pushing the pet hairs out. I put the crevice tool back on and used this machine to shoot the pet hairs out of my steam vaccum. Now I don't have to look at that disgusting hard packed mass of cat hairs in my steam vacuum or deal with trying to push them out with that stupid piece of plastic. This to me is fanastic! (I hope you understand what I'm talking about here. It is hard to describe.)

Anyway the first and second time I used this product, I wondered if it was worth it. Today was my third time and now I do believe it is. For me, the crevice tool worked better on my windows today then the window squeegee did last week. I found the squeegee hard to manipulate. I think it is a matter of learning how to use the product. I never liked the job my steam vacuum did on my kitchen floors. I steamed cleaned my kitchen floors with this today and it worked so great and was so easy I am throwing out my mops. (I have many mops. I have gone threw so many types and not really liked any of them.)

Once you learn to regulate the steam with the on and off switch that is on the handle things will not get soaked and you should be able to clean a couch or chair with it. A steam vacuum might work easier for such a job but this machine would probably do a better job on getting out a tough stain.

I am glad I didn't give up on this machine. It is easy to use once you understand how to use it. I hate cleaning, and this machine kind of motivates me since I always feel I might as well keep cleaning as long as there is steam left. I saw a consumer report on another steam cleaner where the attachments get blown off and bigger messes are created because of the product. Well the attachments on this one don't blow off, and I think I made quite a big mess on my greasy kitchen wall today, but when I changed the attachment I was able to wipe up all that grease easily. (And I guess a rag by itself could always wipe up such messes.) It would have been very hard to get that wall clean without this product.

I did buy a lot of cheap utility cloths and I change them frequently while using this product. The machine does not suck up dirt. The rags pick the dirt up and need to be washed.

no good!!!
I bought this because I heard it was powerful and cheap.
Yes! it's true that it's cheap and easy to carry.. but
it's not enough to get dust and hair from the carpet..
This vacuum is the weakness machine in the world!!!

Good Things Come In Small Packages
Living in the desert, dust is a fact of life and cleaning it can be a full time job in itself. I purchased this cute little vac through a special offer and have been very pleased.

It is not intended to be the main vac, but it is great for doing small jobs such as window sills, around the edge of the room and around furniture legs where the big vac misses that last inch or so. I also used this vac to clean my furniture and was very pleased with the results. It easily reaches into small corners and crevices.

This baby vac has tremenous power, a long cord, and an easy on/off switch. It is light weight and fits comfortable in the hand. The collection bin is small and needs frequent emptying, but I placed a trash can in the middle of the room while cleaning which saved time and many steps.

Keep in mind this is a little bitty vac intended for minor jobs and quick clean ups and you won't be disapointed.
I give it two thumbs up and rate it a good value for the small price.

Great Vac for the Price
Lets be realistic! For this price you are not going to get a super vacume but it does great for getting into small corners and crevices. Has great suction power and is great for stairs and small messes. With a two year old and a husband I know about messes. Great little vac!!!

customer service
The cordless sweeper is a good product if you don't have a hairy dog who destroys vacuum cleaners......I needed a new brush and ordered 6 weeks ago and back ordered the customer service number is a joke....Noone ever answers or a message saying very busy...........I would not recomend any of euro-pro products because of this.......

Forget the negative reviews if you have hardwood floors...this thing works great! My entire house is hardwood floors and I've tried several upright vacuums, and they ALL shoot stuff out of the back. The Shark never shoots anything out...and 99.9% of the time it picks everything up: from rice, coffee, dust-bunnies, crumbs, coins, potato chips...anything that other expensive vacuums I've tried can't. It's convenient to use, lightweight, it stays charged (which btw, when calibrating the battery, they suggest you charge/drain the battery twice. I've drained it once so far, and it ran for over 45 minutes). The swivel handle is great, and maneuvers like a steering wheel.

I even use this thing on the back porch to pick up leaves, berries, and stuff I don't feel like getting out the broom & dustpan for.

I don't think this machine is designed for heavy duty work, or not sure how it would perform on deep-pile carpet, but for my hardwood situation it's perfect!

Also, the little wheel for baseboards really works! It throws stuff right in front of the beeterbar to be consumed.

It's a sweeper not a vacuum!!!!!!
I like this product, I was very sceptacle at first with the classic Info-mertial, but this sweeper can do its job everytime. After living in Europe for a while, one of the biggest selling household items were "electric" brooms, or Sweepers. So I can appretiate a sweeper like this, actually just like the info-mertioal. PLEASE DO NOT buy this to replace your carpet vacuum or you will end up just like the other people here with neg. feedback. If you have tile or hardwood floors this is definately for you, I'm sure It's even great for short "office type" carpet.

Stop! don't buy this product
Bought it, used it once, next time I pulled it out of the closet it didn't work, no spray from the bottom. Went to the authorized repair man, he told me I bought the worst machine Bissell ever made. He wanted to charge me $85.00 to repair the heater. I figured I would cut my loses and not get it repaired. Glad i read the other reviews it seems like others had the same problem.
Regarding the attachments. be careful if you have the attachments stored on the back incorrectly the sprayer button gets pushed and it sprays everywhere. Yes the sprayer on the attachments work. Stay away from this machine

Awesome Carpet Cleaner
I hesitated buying a carpet cleaner but after spending [money] every 4 months for professional cleaning (I live in a 2-story house), I broke down and bought it. I couldn't believe how clean it got my carpet not to mention how easy it is to use. I have grandchildren that have spilled just about everything you can imagine on my carpet. This machine got every stain out. Buy it. It is well worth the investment. I could kick myself for not buying it sooner.

A very hesitant second Bissell buyer
Six years ago, I bought a canister Bissell carpet cleaner and, on our then 5 year old carpets, I thought it worked great. Well, multiple cleanings later and after much abuse (it actually leaked water everywhere), we gave it away. I also couldn't stand the deafening noise of the motor anymore and I realized that it didn't really clean THAT well. After a lot of comparison shopping, I very reluctantly bought this new Bissell cleaner with the "proheat"..OH MY GOSH...why did I wait soooo long? This machine is phenomenal..it is quiet (yes quiet), it glides over my carpet, it is powerful, it sucks up all the dirt and the grimey water. My carpets look new!!!!! This machine was worth every penny and, to top it off, it stores like an upright vacuum (nice and compact). I am amazed and my husband will be too when he sees this. Even my 3 kids noticed the clean white (yes white) carpets in our living room! Did I mention it GLIDES over your carpet? I'm so floored and so pleased with this carpet cleaner. This is the one to buy to keep your carpets looking great.
