I got it at $40 in a FRiday sale .Broke immediatly after 2nd use .

I got this vacuum a few weeks ago of $40. I love it thus far. It has an adjustable carpet-level setting, which comes in handy when cleaning floors, rugs, as different types of carpets. It's very powerful. The only negative thing is that it is a bit noisy.

It's a steal at the $40 DELIVERED that I got it at! Used it a few times now and it sucks hard! Bags are cheap too, just pick them up at Target.

Looks nice but don't function very well. No matter how I screw on the tops, they leak. Don't waste your money, even the "stainless steel" used to make it is very low grade and thin-walled.

I don't like getting stuck having to return items so I might just use it as a flower vase and learn from my mistake.

At first, I thought that I was unlucky and I got one that leaked. The trick is to not fill it all the way up. Just fill it to the lower metal lip inside the opening. It has not leaked since and I am quite happy with it.

This stainless-steel thermos bottle turned out to be better than I expected. It keeps cold liquids cold and hot beverages hot for most of the workday (with prechilling and preheating). It seems sturdy. The stopper is leak-proof, if you tighten it properly. Pouring is easy without removing the stopper. It is very light and short, but holds a decent amount. The strap is well made, secure, and easy to use to carry the bottle on your shoulder. Highly recommended!

The bearings on my little 10-gallon Shop vac I purchased in the early 70's finally had a melt down. The closest replacement is the 12-gallon Shop-vac 925. You would think that 30 years of engineering and space age materials would produce a spiffy new model, right? Wrong.

There is a lot to like about the Shop-vac. The machine is very quiet. No need for ear protection. It is better constructed than others and offers several filter alternatives. It has a more flexible hose than most. For a vacuum cleaner, it's aesthetically pleasing (Ok, that's a stretch). Unfortunately it has some major shortcomings.

Power: While the suction is adequate, the airflow is considerably less than Ridgid or Craftsman. It will do a fine job vacuuming out your car, but it's nearly useless in the shop. It will pick up sawdust if you are patient (I'm not). Shop-vac does not provide a measure of air volume or suction so there is no meaningful way to compare models. In addition, the model/catalog numbers change from retailer to retailer so it is difficult make price comparisons.

Blower: This machine does not have an outlet for blowing. You cannot blow sawdust out of a machine or from behind a woodpile. In my shop, I blow nearly as frequently as I suck (did I say that?) so this was a deal-killer for me.

Wheels: The 2" wheels on my old Shop-vac were too small to roll over it's own cord and caused much frustration. In wisdom known only to Shop-vac engineers, the new model has 1.5" wheels.

Construction: I like the clips that hold the motor housing in place. The rubbery plastic housing looks great and appears rugged. In practice, however, static electricity causes the plastic to attract and hold dust. What a mess! Reminds me of Linus's blanket. You won't want to bring it into the house. The top handle does not allow the lid to lay upside down for maintenance.

I do not use the wet pick-up feature so I cannot evaluate that, but for shop use, take a look at a Ridgid or a Craftsman. I got a Craftsman 16-gallon model on sale for about the same price. It's a little louder and the case probably won't last as long, but boy does it suck and blow! That is the way it should be.

With some improvements this model could suit most homeowner and light contractor needs. It is the quietest I've had. I would like a blow feature but having a calm exhaust comes in handy on many cleanup occasions. I was upset that mine met an abrupt end when one of the motor cooling fins broke off dropping into the motor and caused it to lock up. I may have it repaired depending on cost but needed to replace it and did so with another major brand--and am not as satified as with the Shop Vac. The Shop Vac filtering features are superior.

Purchased the 925-41-10 12 Gallon Shop-Vac from Amazon on clearance a couple of months ago and have been quite happy with it so far. The suction is excellent, it is lighter, easier to move around and the noise is much less than my 5yr old 10 gallon Sears wet-vac that burned out last year. We just purchased a house back in November and put in an upstairs laundry room, hardwood floors and other assorted messy projects, making the shop-vac an absolute necessary. I purchased the 906-72 dry pickup bags that are large and make picking up everything from drywall dust, wood shavings and a large nest of carpenter ants a clean and easy task. I have also used it to suck up standing water in the garage with no problems although 90% of my Vacuuming is for dry items.

Dust bags, cloth or paper, are tough to find for this vacuum. Amazon doesn't sell them and Milwaukee has a $30.00 minimum order. So, if like me, you live in a rural area, better make that original bag that comes with the machine last a long, long time.

I own a lot of Milwaukee tools, among those from most other major brands, and bought this sight unseen. I figured between the reviews, the brand, and the price, it must be a great vac. I was expecting a tornado in a shoe box. Unfortunately, this is the first Milwaukee product I've purchased and been notably unhappy with. Not that it doesn't vacum ok, it does, but for the price I expect it to suck a tennis ball through a 1/2" pipe...

I plan to keep this vac., but only because returning it is more hassle than I have time for. I had hoped I could attach a longer hose and use it with my various sanders, and I'll still try to, but my guess is that the longer hose will fiurther lessen it's suction. As said, in the past I have had blind faith in Milwaukee's products. I'll be giving a second thought to purchases outside their primary product lines from this point forward. This one's a dud.

Surprised by small size..however very impressed by its power. Now if I can only purchase bags for it on Amazon..it would work a lot better

You would think that, given the cost and the fact that the batteries/charger cost AS MUCH as the vacuum - you'd be getting some commercial level quality.
This is NOT the case. Anything over the dust-bunny level isn't going to get picked up by this. Save your $$ and just get a Black and Decker. Or 4 for that matter.

I got this as a promo for buying a few "bazillion" dollars worth of Makita tools. The wife thinks is a poor excuse for a gift, ouch! The kids think its fun to play with. I use it as my emergency extra 9.6 battery stash. Somebody told me it was a vacuum, call it a toy and give it to the kids. You'll get more for your money if you do that, then trying to vacuum with it.

I love this for our floor. This vacuum works great for me to pick up all the stuff from the floor before I mop or just every few days for maintenance work. It's light-weight and easy to use. The only time I have to bend down is to get under the couch. I would NOT recommend this on carpet, but it's great on tiles and wood floor which is what we have. I've been able to avoid lots of major mopping before company arrives by just using this vacuum.

At the recommendation of a friend, I bought the Eureka Victory vacuum cleaner. Big Mistake! It doesn't pick up dirt well at all and anything larger than the most microscopic dust particle will remain on the floor for all eternity unless YOU pick it up. This vacuum cleaner is not the absolute worst I've ever seen, but it's darn close. And that's not a good thing. And it clogs up when the bag is LESS than half full! Don't waste your time, energy, anger or money on this one. It really [is bad].

Easy to assemble. Not that hard to push or pull. One attachment has no storage area on the vacuum. Doesn't clean edges very well, either using the front or the sides (leaves an area about 0.25in uncleaned). Cord does not store very well due to the long lenth (which is appreciated). Carrying handle is a nice feature when bringing the vacuum up and down the stairs. All in all, a good value for the price.

I guess I'm not as particular as others, or maybe my old vacuum was so bad that I just don't know any better - but I am extremely pleased with this vacuum.
It cleans awesome, and the Dirt Alert feature has really helped me to get the most out of the time spent vacuuming (even if it does take a little more time - knowing the carpet is completely vacuumed is well worth it).
The only reason I don't give this vacuum 5 stars is that it can be a little tricky to maneuver. I guess the wide cleaning path is partly to blame, but there is some benefit to that, too.
The vacuum is not heavy and was relatively easy to vacuum steps. The ulphostery attachment works very well at picking up pet hair.
Overall a great value if you are considering this as a replacement.

My daughter's fisher price does a better job than this thing. Has to be the worst vacuum ever made. Motor burned up during 2nd use. Stay clear of this one!

Ok, first off I have to say that this is the perfect vacuum if you live in a small apartment with wall to wall carpet. I have had no problems with this vacuum. You can really tell that the vacuum is doing its job. Its light enough to carry around, that always helps, has those great attachments for the hard to reach places, and a light for when your in dark areas.

I did wish it had height adjustment for the carpet though, sometimes it does not pick up the bigger things that are on the floor. As far as picking up dust and dirt IN the carpet...it does that with no problems.

The suction is very powerful on this model. The motor is noisy but hey, it's a vacuum and that's what they do make noise and suck it all up! It's worth what you pay for it.

Don't take my word for it. It's a Consumer Reports "Best Buy".

Factory-Reconditioned -Item did not come as pictured. Missing canister and bottle stopper. Also arrived not very clean,had crumbs and grease on unit. Maybe would have been better to purchase new.

I just got the reconditioned unit. It's good as new, and it works great. Definitely a good investment. One caveat... the description is misleading-- this is not the 550 kit, it is the 550 machine. It does not come with all the accessories that the 550 kit is supposed to include!

Regardless of whether or not it is "reconditioned", everyone should own one of these. You won't believe the money you can save with it! Plus, no more things "growing" in the fridge.

i received this as a wedding shower present which i had registered for and it never sucked up anything!! It was such a waste of money i wish that i had sent it back or wrote the co. or something i just put it in the trash where it belongs

I had just purchased this vaccuum and wanted to test it out. Within a minute of turning it on, it stopped working! After further examination, I found that one of the cords in the vacuum overheated or something and busted in half. I wish I could send it back.

I have 3 cats and a dog, so the pet hair is never ending. I became so tired of lugging out my upright to vacuum up cat litter and pet fur every day. Other hand vacs I have tried do not have the power necessary to really clean the floor and furniture, until I used this hand vac. It works beautifully. I use it daily and have never had a problem with the unit. I would definitely recommend this item to pet owners.

This product simply does not work. The vacuum is so weak that it does not preserve the wine, even for a day. I have used a Vacuvin for many years and it is a far superior product at a far lower cost. We bought this item because it appeared to be easier to pump than the Vacuvin -- and it is. The reason: it doesn't preserve the wine. I am seeking a return and refund, either through Amazon or Metrokane.

I bought this, although I already had the Vacuvin vacuum pump, because it looked more durable and easier to use. It IS nicer looking than the white plastic vacuvin (although it's grey plastic not metal), but it takes more pumps to create a vacuum and the vacuum is much weaker than with the vacuvin. since the metrokane is also twice as expensive, you'd be better off buying the vacuvin.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He loves it! It works much better and faster than standard vacuum devices. A few quick pulls and you're done. My husband was never patient enough to pump 15-20 times with the standard vacuum device. He really likes this one because it only take 4-5 pumps. He really enjoys using it and ACTUALLY uses it.
