ADDING DUST COLLECTION TO YOUR JOINTERI HAVE A 12" BENCH PLANNER TOO AND AFTER ADDING THE DUST COLLECTION TO IT-IT IS NOW A DREAM TO USE! IN VIEW OF THIS, I RUSHED OUT TO GET A DUST COLLECTION FITTING.
THIS FITTING IS JUST FINE. MAKE SURE IT FITS YOUR CHUTE OPENING-CHANCES ARE IT WILL. DRILL SOME HOLES IN IT TO FASTEN TO YOUR ENCLOSURE AND YOU ARE ALL SET.
BUT BEFORE YOU DO ALL THIS, STUDY YOUR JOINTER AND LOOK FOR ALL THE OPENINGS. AFTER I RAN MY JOINTER, I FOUND CHIPS STILL CAME OUT THE OTHERSIDE. GUESS I WILL JUST HAVE TO MOVE A TRASH CAN ON THAT SIDE TO COLLECT THE CHIPS. THIS FITTING DOES KEEP ME FROM EMPTYING WHAT COMES OUT THE CHUTE!

- 4-inch OD
- Utilize short sections of hose
- 4 inch OD
- Splice
- Connect full sections of hose

The Best Way to Extend Your Dust collection SystemThere are two schools of thought for that proposition: if you just slip your hoses on the fittings, it will slip appart if you stumble over the hose while bumbling about your shop; if your hose is out of the lanes of traffic, clamp them to avoid having to crawl behind that stack of plywood to reattach them. If your tightly clamped hose is strung accross the floor, it will trip you, especially if you can't see the floor because you're proudly hauling that newly completed vanity cabinet in for your adoring wife's inspection.
Work Safely and Happy Dust Collecting!

Only a REAL COOK would need these

Best wide mouth thermos I've found. When I got it, first use I put it to was in thermos cooking. This works great for camping with minimal cooking fuel. Basically you put some rice, chopped vegetables, whatever in pan about the size of thermos, dont want food to be over third pan size and no huge chunks, want everything chopped small so it will cook thoroughly. Then fill pan close to top with water and bring it to rolling boil on stove, shut off stove and quickly pour contents of pan into preheated thermos leaving a little space at top. Close thermos, shake, and lay thermos on its side so food doesnt bunch up. The food will cook in the thermos if thermos holds heat for long enough period. Do this at night and in morning cooked food. One caveat, some food like rice expands greatly as it cooks. Dont use too much for size of thermos- no more than say quarter to third pound dry rice for this thermos if you are only cooking rice. If you experiment with thermos cooking start with small amounts of food and lot water until you get a feel for correct proportions of type food you are cooking. I mainly just wanted to try the Zojirushi so my first attempt was just cup and half of lentils and rest hot water. They were cooked when I opened it after 8 hour, but I was curious so closed it again and left it full 24 hour. The lentils were still hot and edible. I didnt use thermometer, but think the Zojirushi people were honest in their claims of heat retention. Probably around 120 degrees after 24 hour. The Zojirushi performed like a champ in my opinion.
I am not sure what about Zojirushi thermos/stopper is so efficient. The stopper does seem to create a slight vacuum on food inside the thermos. I would assume this helps insulate.
As to using for hot liquid where you are pouring off say cup coffee now and again throughout the day, it works to certain extent, but contents cool much faster because when you pour out hot liquid, that space the liquid occupied in thermos is replaced with cool room temp air. This then cools remaining liquid somewhat. When used this way, those last cups of coffee arent piping hot by any means. Maybe only real way to keep piping hot coffee for use throughout the day is to have three or four efficient small pint thermoses and use up one at a time.
Oh by way this 1.5 liter is identical to 1.3 liter in all ways except size. I would expect the 1.3 widemouth to perform simularly.

Best "Thermos" I have ever boughtThe unit is very durable with a strong handle that pushes flat against the side for storage and pulls out to pick up for pouring. It also comes with a shoulder strap. I plan to buy a larger Vacuum bottle by Zojirushi in the future.
